While it is still traditional in the sense of being a horse collar design, it incorporates a winglike design at the bottom portion of the bladder. The wings actually provide more stability to the wearer by redistributing the air in a more logical configuration. Having the wings near the waist area means there is less chance of rolling over onto the back while kicking when there is air in the vest. The two tone color appeals to kids because it isn't boring.

The Kids Two Tone Snorkeling Vest is still is a horse collar style that includes both a waist and a crotch strap. The straps are 1 inch wide nylon webbing material with male to female quick release buckles and are adjustable to create an excellent fit. The flexible oral inflator tube is kept accessible with a one inch nylon web strap keeper and features a metal locking ring to prevent accidental deflation of the vest while in use. The Bladder of the vest is polyurethane for durability with a nylon material laminate. The edges of the bladder are meticulously heat sealed not glued to ensure integrity and the all material edges have binding to avoid fraying of the nylon.

The size of the vest is designed for children weighing up to 88 pounds (39.9 kg) and the positive lift is 8 pounds (3.2 kg). Snorkeling vests are not designed to be used in place of life vests or life jackets and as with any water sport equipment for kids, snorkeling vest use should be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.
