The dog will chew on your mask strap or your little one will take a scissor to it and there is nothing wrong with your silicone strap. So replace it. But be careful, each manufacturer has different sizes. This video will show you how easy it is to change your snorkeling mask strap.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SNORKELING MASK STRAP - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
There may come a time where you need to replace the snorkeling mask strap. It's very easy to do. As far as the snorkeling mask strap itself, you have the little buckle here and all you simply do is pull back on the buckle and pull the strap out. That would be on both sides. And then you would replace the snorkeling mask strap by simply taking the tab with the ridged sides out, sliding it underneath this roller bar right here, pull back on the buckle a little bit.
Once you have it through, grab the tab and don't be afraid to pull. Once you have the snorkeling mask strap through, there's a little buckle on here that has two little slots on it. This is to keep the snorkeling mask strap in place so it will not slide back and forth once you have it on your head and making it fit correctly. All you need to do is slide this through the open slot and again, don't be afraid to pull.
Once you have the snorkeling mask strap fitted to your head correctly as far as the tension, all you do is you slide this buckle in, right up to the mask itself. Any tension that goes on the snorkeling mask strap, either way, is not going to pull through.
