It is important to understand whether you purchase a snorkel with or without a replaceable mouthpiece. Wear and tear on a snorkel usually occurs with the bite tabs on the mouthpiece itself. This stems from biting too hard on these tabs or from people that have a tendency to grind their teeth. Replacing the mouthpiece is not difficult and this video shows you how it is done.

HOW TO CHANGE THE MOUTHPIECE ON YOUR SNORKEL - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
There may come a time where you need to change the mouthpiece on your snorkel. Now some snorkels will allow you to have the mouthpiece changed. Some will not. This particular snorkel here, the mouthpiece is one piece and in order to change it, you have to take all of this off, purchase the replacement piece and that can probably be a little bit more expensive than just going out and getting a whole new snorkel.
On the snorkel where the mouthpiece can be changed, to simply change it, pull the mouthpiece off. You'll notice that there's two indentations on the inside here of the snorkel mouthpiece, and then you have two ribbed edges here. All you need to do is line them up so that they are flush, and you've just changed the mouthpiece on your snorkel.
