The panels direct the cupped water toward the fin tip which increases both efficiency and power. The raised side rails keep the water on the fin rather than letting it spill off the sides. This means that your kicks are controlled and since the side rails are raised on the top and the bottom, they are controlled on both the up kick and the down kick. The fins are narrower in the blade and longer than traditional fins but don't let that fool you into thinking that they don't perform well. Their streamlined appearance was no accident in the engineering phase. Their length and width make them very responsive to changes you make in direction without causing extensive stress to your leg and foot muscles when doing so.
