VIDEO - ADJUST THE FIN STRAP It would be wrong of us to assume that everyone knows what we know about how to use and adjust snorkeling equipment. The purpose of this video is to tell and show you the correct way to adjust the snorkeling fin straps. While most strap fins are adjusted in much the same way, there will be exceptions. The fins used in this particular demonstration are the U.S. Diver Trek Travel fins but applies to all strap fins. Not following directions could lead to broken buckles on your fins. |
HOW TO ADJUST YOUR SNORKELING FIN STRAP - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
This is another snorkeling snippet from SnorkelingOnline.com. What Deb is going to show us is how the correct way is to put your snorkeling fin on. Deb has a pair of the U.S. Divers Trek Travel fins, which were made to be worn barefoot. And if you notice on the Trek Travel Fins, they do have a strap on them and the strap has a buckle. What you want to do first is loosen up the snorkeling fin strap totally, and in order to do that, you notice that Deb isn't pulling the buckle all the way; she's just lifting it up a little bit and pulling the fin strap. Then what Deb is going to do is she's going to slide her foot into the fin and she's going to pull the loosened strap right up over the heel. Now she needs to tighten up the fin strap. Now the thing that you do not want to do is you do not want to pull it totally out sideways. You could damage the fin buckle on doing that. When you tighten your snorkeling fin, what you want to do is put your fingers in the finger loops and pull straight back. And that's how you wear a strap fin.
