Check this out! So I am sure that everyone has had salmon on their plate at one time or another. And I am sure that everyone knows that salmon swims upstream, but did you know that you can snorkel with the salmon? Now how cool is that?

Paradise Found Adventures offers Snorkeling Tours on the Campbell River which is 3.5 hours from Victoria, Canada. The owners, Brad and Jennifer Brock, have been voted by the Canadian Tourism Commission as one of the best outdoor adventure trips in the country.

Here is a great article from Andrew Flemings experience.

In Chicago, it is getting chilly, to chilly to snorkel or at least for me. But to continue with my fun hobby for the rest of the year, where can we go that is inexpensive? Florida has many great locations and they do have great State Parks. Grab your snorkel set and lets go for a trip!

The Blue Spring State Park is west of Orange City and is a spring that has a constant 72 degrees water temperature. Because the spring is a safe haven warm water refuge for the West Indian Manatees, the park is closed to snorkeling (and all water sports) from Nov 15 – Mar 1.

Now if your goal is to snorkel with the manatees, go to Crystal River in Florida. Here is a great video that you and the family will enjoy. It was produced by Birds Underwater Inc. Dont forget your snorkel set!

Oceana has the opportunity to win $200000.00 and they need your help. All you have to do is go vote, once a week and on November 29th, the organization with the most votes gets money.

Ok, who is sponsoring this? TakePart and American Express. TakePart is an independent online community that connects its members directly to the issues that inspires them to engage, contribute and take action. Here is a motivated video from TakePart.

So what will Oceana do with $200000.00? This is what they plan on doing with the money….

- Launch major research missions, like our ongoing Gulf of Mexico expedition.
- Advocate for better protections for sharks and sea turtles in Washington, DC.
- Protect thousands of miles of the ocean from destructive fishing practices, like bottom trawling.

Pass this on to your friends and start voting today!

I am sure that most readers have visited the Bahamas, whether by boat or plane. But how many readers have gone to the Abaco Island in the Bahamas?

What caught my eye and made me write a blog was an article on FoxNews.com on the Abaco and the subtitle was: Feed the Rays with Your Toes! OH MY GOODNESS, I never laughed so hard. The article says, In Green Turtle Cay, book a snorkeling trip with Brendal’s Dive Center (242-365-4411; $75 including beach barbecue) and feed sting rays with your toes. Toes still intact, walk around charming New Plymouth with its gingerbread homes, picket fences, and Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar (242-365-4181), home of the Goombay Smash rum drink that does exactly what its name implies.

I looked at the website of Brendals Dive Center and they do not mention of using your toes to feed the stingrays but they do mention hand feeding. Big difference. They do have a cool 3 day snorkel trip and if you find your way to the Bahamas, take a trip to the Abacos.

Snorkel Reef Trip 1/2 Day
- Adventure Specialty Trips of: Snorkel Reef Trip then Fresh Seafood caught and grilled on the beach with activity of (Hand Feed the Sting Rays) Day.
- Wild Dolphin Encounter (snorkel with or watch from boat) & Snorkel Reef Trip with stop at an island beach at lunchtime.
- Complimentary rum punch served each Adventure Day at lunchtime on the beach!
